Grand Pilier d'Angle

Lovely video by Keith Ball, that begins with a 'little leg-stretch' on the Tournier Spur with Nick Bullock and Tim Neill this summer, as a 'warm-up' to the main feature - climbing the north-east face of the Grand Pilier d'Angle (4243 m). The trio started up the Bouchard route, finishing as for the Boivin/Vallencant route and following the Peuterey Arete over the top of Mont Blanc.

For Nick it was a poignant return to the face he'd last been on seventeen years ago in the company of the late Jules Cartwright. You can read about the ascent on Nick's blog and get Tim's account at Tim Neill Guiding.
