It is business as unusual at DMM. Currently, it feels like we’re just about to set off on a long and difficult runout. We’re sure that’s true for many of you. The route finding is uncertain. There’s no guidebook on how to deal with the difficulties presented by COVID-19.
At DMM, we are working our way through it, listening to government advice, planning, and reacting day-by-day. By producing locally in the UK we are fortunate to have a great deal of control over our supply chain. The factory is still fully operational and we continue to ship worldwide from our warehouse.
Extra precautions to safeguard our workforce have been put in place. These include social distancing at work stations and increased sanitation provision. Where people can work from home, we are asking them to do so. Visits and tours of our factory in Llanberis have been suspended.
It’s going to be a tough spell globally for the climbing sector and the wider communities in which we live and work.
Now is a time when the core values and qualities that have shaped climbing take-on an even greater importance in our everyday lives: perseverance, solidarity, partnership, respect, support, integrity and a healthy dose of humour. A time to have each other’s backs.
Stay safe and look after each other.
From all the team at DMM
