As part of their prize from DMM, three of the BMC Youth Climbing Series (YCS) 2014 Grand Final winners at EICA Ratho, got to enjoy a day at Pen Trwyn (Great Orme) with climbing coach and top climber, James McHaffie. Although the weather was far from its summer finest for the start of August, it didn't stop Max Milne (Youth B: 14-15 yrs), Hannah Slaney (Youth B) and Hamish McArthur (Youth C: 12-13 yrs) having a great day covering practical techniques and movement skills on the rock.
The BMC YCS is open to all young people and comprises of three regional rounds with the top three in each category going through to the Grand Final.
We'll be running another Masterclass event on September 27th for those winners - Aidan Roberts (Youth A: 16-17 yrs) Emily Phillips (Youth C) and Flo Tilley (Youth A) - that couldn't make it on this occasion.
