Shadow Secure

The concept for the Shadow Secure was to create a gate system that stopped the gate of a carabiner opening accidentally and then being loaded in the potentially dangerous gate open position. It was also a fundamental requirement that the gate system could be engaged and disengaged quickly and with one hand.

The resulting patented gate mechanism has taken over 2 years to develop, but offers the climber an unparalleled system for protecting long run-outs and adding security to critical runners.

The new gate has been built onto our premium Shadow carabiner back and is operated by flicking a small metal switch that alternatively engages and disengages the gate in the closed position.

Thus the climber gets a full sized, super light, very strong carabiner with a unique gate system that offers a far greater level of security for those crucial running belays.
